Introduction to SchuF

SchuF is a leading global supplier of speciality valves to the Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Petrochemical, Refining and related industries. We currently have 50 agents worldwide and they represent approximately eighty per cent of our global revenue. As such SchuF places extreme importance on finding and supporting the right agent, in the most appropriate way in each country or region.

SchuF revenue and profit has grown dramatically in the past 5 years, and we now plan to expand into new geographies with existing and new products. For example, we have recently redesigned our lift plug range to fit the severe requirements of the Delayed Coking industry, and continue to win more contracts in the coal-gasification field, where our customised control valves are quickly becoming an industry standard. Many of the ideas for valve innovation, or focus on a particular industry, in a particular country are driven by the expertise and feedback of our agents and customers.

The SchuF Agent Program

The Agent program is designed to support agents to sell highly specialised and high value valves into specific industry processes (for example polymer, PVC, delayed coking, mining applications etc). To this end, SchuF provides regular training, trade fair participation, customised drawings and schematics, brochures and case studies. Our highly qualified agent sales group and our CEO will also support you to close sales.

Introduction to SchuF

SchuF, founded in 1911 by the present owners’ grandfather, the inventor of the bottom outlet valve, is now the world-wide accepted market leader for speciality valves. We have factories in Germany, Ireland, and the USA as well as more recently in Brazil and India. We employ about 300 people worldwide of which over 50 are engineers. Our products cover the entire range of special valves such as:

Tank bottom outlet-, Changeover-, Angle control-, Steam injection-, Sampling-, Y-Globe-,Spray rinse-, Automatic recirculation-, Diverter-, Lift plug-, Customised control-and Internal tank valves.

Areas of Specialisation and Market Leadership

Our valves are used mainly in the petrochemical and related industries producing batch polymers such as PVC and PU, adhesives & dyes, continuous polymers such as PET, PBT, non woven and PP, highly erosive and corrosive duties such as PTA, urea, and fertiliser. We make GMP compliant valves for fine chemicals and active pharmaceutical ingredients and lethal service valves for chlorine and phosgene gas to name but a few.

We have built a market leadership position in the field of Coal gasification and liquefaction as well as heavy oil upgrading and are currently developing the delayed coking and refinery market. Our advanced control valve technology has led to many unique innovations in the chemical, mineral processing and refining industries.

Material Difference

SchuF valves are available in all pressure ranges from ANSI 150# to ANSI 2500# and up (DIN and JIS equivalents also), and in sizes from 1/2" to 54". Not only standard stainless steel material but also special materials such as Hastelloy, Titanium, Zirconium, Duplex, low ferrite 316L, glass lined, PTFE lined and many others can be cast, fabricated and machined to any specifications.

Agent Qualification

We are interested in concluding agency agreements in regions or countries where we are currently not represented and in particular for Australia. As our clients are mainly in the chemical, mineral processing, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, refining and polymer industry as well as with engineering companies, you would need:

  1. To already have good contacts in one or more of these fields.
  2. Possess good engineering or process understanding in order to explain our products and find suitable applications.
  3. Commitment to training one or more of your staff in detail about the SchuF valve portfolio
  4. To prepare and target a minimum revenue goal for your country
